GRVH STAFF

My name is Bobbie Zech DVM. As many young girls, I always knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. I grew up on a family dairy farm in Saranac. This was a big part of my inspiration! I was active in 4-H (showing both cattle and horses) and FFA. My other interests included volleyball and basketball.

I learned a great deal about veterinary medicine by working in 2 different veterinary hospitals during high school and college. I went on to MSU to earn my degree in veterinary medicine and graduated in 1996. My first job was right here at Grand River Veterinary Hospital. I was given the opportunity to purchase the practice just two years later! The practice grew so quickly that in 2000 I hired Kim to join our team. I enjoy being part of this dedicated, caring, and fun team. We take pride in our great patient care and client service. We are looking forward to our new facility so we can continue this great care to more clients and their pets.

In addition to a fulfilling professional life; I have a great family. My husband Chris and I have two wonderful children. Meaghan attends Saranac Elementary School and loves to play soccer and basketball. She also loves horses and can't wait for me to let her have one!! Connor is starting school this year and loves playing soccer as well. Chris has finished his degree in elementary education and is hoping to find a job teaching soon. My family consumes most of my time outside of the office, but I also enjoy backpacking and traveling!

Hello! My name is Kim Mast DVM. I grew up in Wayland, MI just 60 minutes southwest of Lowell. I was raised on a small family farm, which my father and brother still own and operate. I was involved in 4-H showing cattle, horses, cooking, baking, and sewing projects. I attended Michigan State University where I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1994. My first veterinary job was in Allegan, MI where I practiced for six years before moving to Lowell.

My husband, Chris, and I have two boys. As a family we enjoy biking, camping, traveling, movies and football. GO RED ARROWS!!!! We moved to Lowell, MI in September 2000. We have enjoyed getting to know people in the community by attending church, YMCA activities, school-sponsored events, and the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce events.

I started at Grand River Veterinary Hospital on October 1, 2000 as associate veterinarian. In October 2004 I became part-owner with Dr. Zech at GRVH. I have enjoyed working in a hospital where patient care and client service are the main focus. The staff we have at GRVH is caring, conscientious, flexible, and fun. We are planning a lot of exciting changes for the future so stop in for a visit or check us out more here on the website.

My name is Rose Summers. I grew up in paradise, on a horse outside of Ludington with plenty of furry friends.

Married to a California city boy that has adapted to country life exceedingly well, always helping me with accommodations for new critters I brought home. We now are down to a couple of horses, 2 dogs, 5 cats and two koi-goldfish ponds. Somehow there is still time for gardening, sailing, and artsy projects.

I started at Grand River Veterinary Hospital in 2005, have enjoyed being part of GRVH, and am amazed at the knowledge, helpfulness, and teamwork. The caring is obvious.

My name is Robin Pline. I grew up in Portland, graduated high school there and married my high school sweetheart. We now have one son that we home school.

After graduating from MSU's Veterinary Tech Program in 1986, I worked for one other clinic for 10 years, then came to GRVH.

Working at GRVH is very rewarding. With my love of my job coinciding with great co-workers and veterinarians that have become friends.

My hobbies are dog showing, crafts and camping.

My name is Tina Dixon. I have worked at GRVH since October 2003. I am currently going to Baker College for the Veterinary Technician program. I live in Ionia with my fiance, our four cats, and our rat. I love my job because my co-workers are my other family. The clients and patients are all so wonderful and make us the hospital that we are.

My hobbies include camping, canoeing, and spending time with family and friends (including furry ones)!

My name is Mary Anne Wilson. I grew up on the same dairy farm that I still live on. Since it is a family farm, I am still involved in calf feeding and occasionally drive tractors.

I share my house with my two cats Harry and Bess. I have an active interest in riding dressage and hope to show my horse, Pete. I also own a pony named Ned and a miniature horse, Windy.

I graduated from MSU's Veterinary Technician Program in 1981. I have been working at GRVH since May 2005 and enjoy the warm, family-like atmosphere.

My name is Kathy Camelin. I grew up in Grand Rapids. My husband and I have two boys who keep us very busy. We have one cat named Pierre. Our family enjoys travel, especially to France to visit my in-laws. I also enjoy working on various home improvement projects and gardening.

I enjoy working for GRVH not only for the staff that I care for and respect but also the clients and pets I have grown relationships with over the years. I am also proud of the quality of care we give our patients in a personal atmosphere.

Hello, my name is Carrie Schrock. My husband Casey and I got married 09/13/08. God couldn't have blessed me with a better man. We both enjoy the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking with the lab Gus and riding our quads. Family, God & friends are also very important to us.

I have been with GRVH since the summer of 2006. As a vet assistant, I couldn't ask for a better group of women to work with. The job itself is alot of fun and very rewarding. If you haven't checked us out, come on down!

My name is Katie Huizinga. I grew up in Ada. After spending a year living in South Carolina and four years living on the east side of Michigan, I recently moved to Lowell with my family and we are thrilled to be back in West Michigan.

I have a wonderful husband of 11 years, a son and two daughters. We share our home with a dachshund/maltese mix named Leo and a cat named Daisy. My life is extremely busy with my children but I enjoy spending time with family and friends, shopping and reading.

I worked at Grand River Veterinary Hospital from 1993 until 1997. I came back working part-time in May of 2007. I was happy to be able to return to a place that provides personal, quality care for clients and animals as well as providing wonderful support for its staff.

Hi. My name is Angie Blough. I am the newest addition to GRVH. I just started working in the veterinary field in the past year and I absolutely love it.

I grew up in Saranac and now live in Alto. I met my husband, Denny 17 years ago, and 3 kids later, here we are. My sons, Brandon and Kyle, both play football and lacrosse for Lowell. My daughter, Jordan, plays softball, loves horses and whatever involves dirt. The rest of our family includes our Bassett Hound, Jackson and our 2 kittys, Chester Cheetos and Tinkerbell.

I'm glad I was given the opportunity to come to GRVH, I couldn't ask for a better group of women to work with everyday.

My name is Marilyn Dombak. I live in Lowell with my husband and three of our adult children. My background is in nursing, but I have spent "lots" of years as a stay-at-home mom to homemade, adopted and foster children. Our family also includes two wonderful dogs and spoiled cats.

In my spare time I enjoy sewing, crochet and reading. I started working at GRVH in 1995 and love being a part of such a great team of dedicated and caring people.

Hello, my name is Rhonda Flentje (Flint-Ya). I am what might be called a "transplant", I am from St. Louis. I grew up in Quincy, Illinois. In October 2006 we moved here to be with family.

I worked for seven years at Washington University School of Medicine as a Medical Secretary. I bring with me to this practice a combined twenty years of secretarial experience.

My hobbies are sewing, outdoor activities and some day I hope to get back to my pottery.

My name is Holly Cooper. I grew up in Saranac and graduated from school there as well. My husband and I have been married for 18 years. We have two kids, Shaun and Shelby.

We live near Lake Odessa on 10 acres which allows us to have all the animals I dearly love. We have dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, a gerbil, fish and 2 pygmy goats.

Because of my love for animals, I came to the logical conclusion that Pet Grooming was the right fit for me. Paragon School of Pet Grooming is where I received my training.

I groom dogs, cats and rabbits. Just about anything with fur. I love to clean up a smelly dirty pet and return them to the mom or dad fresh and sweet smelling with bows.

I am very fortunate to be a part of the staff at GRVH.
